What: St. Patricks Day Parade, Carnival (Let's Shoot It Out!)

Lot's of people, colors, kids, pets, costumes and craziness for this upcoming St. Patrick's parade in Henderson. Enjoy a small town style parade where you are on the street right next to the parade itself. You can get a chance to get close, weave in and out of the crowd and use your creative juices to take amazing photographs.

The parade officially starts at 10am and ends at 12pm but there will be a carnival, car show and live entertainment after wards (not to mention food!). I suggest getting there early, 9am or 9:30am. It would be interesting to see the pre-parade setup and take photos there as well.

There is no designated parking, just go park on the street. It will get tighter to find a parking spot the closer to the parade, so make sure to get there early.

Pre-shoot meetup around 9:15am (location TBA) and we can talk shop, etc. I will post photos I've taken from this parade in the past up here as well for you to get an idea.

Use any gear you want, point and shoot, slr, digital or film. Some people prefer to shoot with a zoom, but this is a parade where you can get close and shoot wide --- you just have to be fast so you won't get run over. Remember, the best part is not necessarily the parade itself, but the people watching!

Would one of you attending this be willing to take a few pictures of the Best Friends Animal Society group that will be participating in the parade, and then emailing them to me for posting (with your name, to make sure you get name credit)? I am part of that group and would normally shoot it for them...but I have been coerced in to leading the "Drill Team" in the parade. We just need a couple pictures of the group walking with their "Puppies Aren't Products" banner and their dogs, and the "Drill Team" to go on the Best Friends Network group page. We would appreciate it very much! Just let me know!
