Just looking for more people interested in getting together to go shoot and make more networking connections.
Landscapes and Sports Action or anything that pays money. I would like to move into photography full time.
Owner of Mark Swink Photography so I guess that makes me a pro? Although I still have to keep my day job to pay the bills. Anybody need additional photographers on your staff?
A chance to get together with other photogs and shoot some interesting areas. Of course a chance to work with someone to actually make money would be a good thing as well.
"Willing to work as an extra shooter for just about any type of shoot."
This meetup group is great.
You must be signed in to post a Greeting.
"Cindy and I just got back from picking up our badges. They are a little disorganized today."
"Don't forget that there will be a mandatory safety meeting before this event."
"Announcing a new Meetup for The Southern Nevada Photographers Meetup Group! ... MoreWhat: Nevada Southern Railroad Photo Shoot When: Saturday, April 24, 2010 7:00 AM Where: Nevada State Railroad Museum / Boulder City 600 Yucca St Boulder City, NV 89005 [masked] This is from a post on the Las Vegas Photographic Society meetup group by John Ulmanis. April 24 the Friends of the Nevada Southern will be having a Photographers Special train run ay the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City. More details are still being hashed out and will post those here as they come in. Most likely be an official Meetup. So far photographers will have access to the Depot displays, maintainence facilty, storage yard and along the right-of-way to Railroad Pass. The run-bys will be with all 4 locomotives in different consists....another words..4 different train sets. Those of you who were at last years Meetup there have an idea what is out there but this time operating. Just FYI...a safety meeting is being arranged before the start of the day and most likely be MANDATORY....remember that 150 tons of train does not stop fast and does not steer....I hate to be the "Photo Nazi" but I am going to recommend that anyone who does not attend the safety meeting will not be allowed on the right-of-way or where equipment is operating to photograph...this is for everyone's safety... On another note.....photo submissions will be accepted for a 2011 NSRM calender...a quality printed calender..probably 9"x12"...selected photos will have photo credit and photographer will get a free copy...this train photo run is being provided free of charge for this reason..you are not required to submit from this run but would be a great opportunity to possibly be published...you can submit previously shot material or images shot afterwards as long it is from the Nevada Southern Railway or Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City...no over-processed images will be considered...minor tweaks or B&W conversions are fine... Details on how to submit, deadlines and image requirements will be posted here as they come in..The calender will be sold in the NSRM/BC gift shop. Disclaimer...I will not be part of image selection for the calender...I will be submitting along with everyone else and have the same chances as everyone else but I will be part of the design process as a consultant/advisor. The Friends of the Nevada Southern is a non-profit organization....Donations are tax deductable..the calender proceeds will be used to help with operating and maintainence costs of the train... Soooooo....Save the Date!!!....This WILL be a fun day to get creative...A lot of neat train stuff other than the run-bys... "Cindy and I waited at the meetup point for 10 minutes and when nobody showed we started toward the entrance only to find a line that would have taken an hour to get in to the place...."
"It might help everyone to post a map to let people know how to traverse the mountains between Death Valley and Rhyolite. Having them as one meetup doesn't sound very practical to me but that is only one person's opinion...."
"The railroad trail would be a great place to meet. Plenty of parking, restrooms, and a well maintained trail. We bike there quite often so know the trail well. This can be a hike that can be managed even by those that aren't hikers."
"We'll have to see where this is taking place before we can say for sure."
"We will be there in the afternoon as we have standing plans every Sunday morning volunteering for Hospice. We will be there around 1:30 for the afternoon. I will put up another meetup for the afternoon session."
