WHAT: Street Photography—Chinese New Year Celebration. Shooting the Preparation.

WHEN: Sunday, February 21, 2010. The public Year of the Tiger Celebration ($3 admission) is slated for 10a-5p (with entertainment scheduled for 11a to 4p). Let’s shoot early to catch the preparations: 8a to 11a.

WHERE: Area of the Las Vegas Chinatown Plaza (4255 Spring Mountain Road #C201; one mile W. of Treasure Island). Specifically, meet under left side (from street, facing parking lot) of the arch. If parking lot is fenced off for the event, meet on sidewalk directly in front of the left side of the arch.

OPTIONAL LUNCH: I've made a lunch reservation at Capital Seafood (11:30a). They're setting up the "big table" for 12 people. If you want to participate in the seafood lunch (FYI, we'll divide the bill and tip by the number of people at the table), please email me pronto at: [masked]. First come, first served (SNP members may bring one guest).

I was only there for a moment, but I got to chat with Jan for a bit. Lots of people and looks like everyone came out with wonderful images and experiences.

I had an absolute blast on my first SNP Meetup. Thanks to Jan for organizing this event today. The morning session was much more intimate with the smaller number of photogs. The area in front/sides/behind the stage was a madhouse.

Sorry to hear the afternoon shoot was not not a "10" for some of you. The morning shoot was a blast! Great group of people (lots of sharing of ideas & planning for future Meetups). Wonderful lunch. Gobs of amazing photos (okay, I like to shoot unusual stuff...will convert to B&W and upload them right after my nap).

There will be food from street vendors at the celebration. But some of the entertainment is amazing and not to be missed.
